FCRA Registration Granted

It is after much hard work and dedication from all at Grassroots India that we can finally announce the approval of our FCRA registration allowing for foreign donations. We are looking forward to the growth of all of our programs for women empowerment, healthcare and livelihood of the poor in 2017 and beyond.

IMG 8341wGrassroots India was incorporated in 2008 and received its 12A registration as a non-profit company in January 2009. After much effort, the company received its 80G registration in September 2011, which allows for Indian donors to get tax credits. In the same year we received permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs for FCRA prior permission to continue our W.I.S.H. (Women's Independent Self-Help) Network in Odisha. This year, on August 10, 2016 we received notice that our FCRA registration was approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs. The allows for foreign donors to participate in the growth of Grassroots India. Local supporters and friends were excited about the opportunities that this registration will offer to the poor and marginalized segments of rural Odisha. This is a great compliment to the wonderful work being done by the directors, management, staff, instructors, and volunteers, but it is an even bigger statement about the accomplishments of the WISH Network of young girls who are our alumni and current students. Their dedication to their lives and the training that they receive at Hariharananda Vocational Training Center is commendable. The Board of Directors and Advisors will spend this year planning for an exciting 2017 and beyond. Our WISH girls will enjoy many different classes at the Hariharananda Vocational Training Center and will participate in exhibitions, field trips, and other activities that will build confidence and give positive life experiences. We are planning to expand more outreach activities to the rural districts of Odisha. Stay tuned for more exciting news to come....
